Cacao powder, unlike granular cacao nibs, is finely ground and ready to mix in your favourite smoothie. Cacao is native to the Americas - first cultivated by Mesoamerican tribes. In Aztec culture, cacao was considered more valuable than gold. Cacao contains less caffeine than coffee and boasts the stimulant theobromine – a muscle and blood vessel relaxant. It is high in minerals (magnesium and zinc), vitamins C, A, E, K, thiamin, riboflavin, and niacin. Rich in flavonoids and oleic acid.
Use in smoothies, desserts, baking and sauces (including chili recipes).
