Acerola cherry taste like a cross between tart apples and cranberries – with a citrus flourish (oranges). It is native to Mexico, central Amerca and the Caribbean.
It also has a floral scent (violet).
USE:
Pair with pineapple, mangos, and kiwi. Add to a beet puree. Blends well in sauces – even with a little habanero. Acerola is excellent in ice cream, popsicles, and syrups.
Acerola is a fragile fruit, but practical and delicious in powder form. Use in smoothies, sauces, baking, and deserts.
