Peaches were first cultivated 6000 years ago along the Yangze River in China. They are revered by the Chinese to bestow longevity and immortality. If you detect a floral scent in peaches, it is because they are a part of the rose family. Peaches are a good source of vitamins A and C – and beta-carotene that converts vitamin A to aid in health skin. They are also low in calories and rich in potassium, fluoride and iron.
